The Spirit of the Sloth is one that is gentle, that is encouraging in what it can bring to you. The energy of the Sloth relates deeply through the root and sacral chakras, through the element of Earth predominantly but I also feel a resonance of air. What this all means for you, in a nutshell, is a connection to grounding, to slowing down and gaining clarity.
When you connect with the spirit of the Sloth you will realise that you do not need to rush into anything, that it is ok to take your time, to notice the details and to mull over the options and choices presenting so you can make the most informed choice for positive results.
The sloth reminds us that as much as you may feel an urgency to get where you want that perhaps just hanging in the moment, savouring all that is around you at this very given time is actually what is needed. Sometimes less is more and you will get to where you want to be faster if you actually go slower!
The sloth is an ideal companion when meditating or connecting to breath work for that ability to see from a different point of view, help you ground and to find clarity, through slowing down mind, body and soul is quite unique. Nothing is a problem with the sloth around, no task is too big or too small. One step at a time, one thought, one moment all just manifesting into a solid structure of groundwork that will establish firm foundations for where you truly want to be.
In short, recapping the Spirit of the Sloth
Helps you slow down and to just take one step at a time
A fantastic companion for meditation and breathwork
Will ground your energy and help create mental/intellectual clarity
Connects to pathways to build solid foundations to expand on
Assists you in seeing from a different point of view
So, if you are ready, if you have been in a place where you are blinded as to what step to take next, feel scattered and unsure then the spirit of the sloth may be exactly who you need to call on!
This made me think of what I learn from taoism. Practice non doing. Effortless action. Love to the sloth.
